Some US regions have started to implement initiatives that monitor urban life through the use of information sp41 technology. The researchers say with conviction that are totally benign initiatives, but on the other hand, are not yet clear questions about the privacy of individuals.
With the use of 'big data' - collection and analysis of large volumes of data - technologies have been developed which may include sensors on light poles to record the volume of the parties in houses and car horns; cameras sp41 that determine the time that families light and what their buildings emit pollutants; smartphones monitored to identify bottlenecks and synchronize traffic lights; etc.
As everything is new, this innovative way of wanting to understand about urban life arouses some questions: what is the limit of technology to not inflict our privacy? Does such "surveillance" does not bother people? Or on the other hand, we only have to gain from all this?
Great REILLY, I made a great comment sp41 that I think was lost ... He quoted Eric Schmidt (Google) & Jared Cohen "The New Digital Age: Transforming Nations, Businesses, and Our Lives". My point is that in established democracies like the US, the power of information can be of service to the collective well-being. Just a "hesitation" of lack of cooperation between sp41 stakeholders (Morten Hasen already pointed out in Collaboratio, how to avoid traps ...) could allow the disastrous terrorist attack sp41 on September 11. TIA - Total Information Awareness needed after being refurbished to become the Terrorism Information Awareness Program. More than consumption and habits of the people sp41 - which is useful even for the well-being sp41 of the rest of that festam not until the early hours (sometimes abusively), the safety of the community is at stake. "IT should always be this' equal-opportunity enabler" and it as Public Manager you know well with can be useful to the community. The famous vigilante neighborhood gets easier and powerful with the strength of the algorithm to the common good service. Thanks for cause us to think about our future that is already sp41 coming. Hugs, Beto.
