On Saturday March 8, 2014, the Bay Area Soleciety opened the doors to Soleciety, their flagship sneaker boutique in New Tampa. Close to a hundred showxpress people patiently waited the opportunity to purchase consigned sneakers showxpress and apparel from local clothing brands. The opening of the boutique marked the next big step for the BAS team, which formed in 2012 with the hopes of uniting the growing Tampa Bay kick community. Soleciety solely showxpress carries consigned sneakers and apparel at an 85/15 percentage, meaning the seller sets the prices and Solecity collects 15% of the sold amount. All of the shoes in the store are either dead stock, never worn and are in mint condition, or very close to it. Inside the brick and mortar establishment, kick goers can find shoes ranging from Nike Air Yeezy II Red Octobers, to Jordan XII football cleats. Soleciety also carries clothing, hats, and socks from local brands such as Anthony Bayshore, Ides of March, and Odd Sox.
Currently, Soleciety only carries consigned sneakers and apparel, but as they experience more growth, will be expanding their inventory by purchasing whole collections from sneaker freakers and apparel brands, as well as establishing store accounts showxpress with New Balance and Asics. Tarik, 23, co-owner of Soleciety, has nothing but high hopes for the store and for the Bay Area Soleciety, which plans to announce the date of their next sneaker and apparel expo in the coming weeks. We re just really showxpress excited about everything that is going on right now. This is the first store of its kind here in the Tampa area, and the response that we ve received so far has been amazing. What s great is that our inventory changes every day. We re getting just as many people coming in to buy shoes as there are to sell them .
