The experience of the summer 01 I

FROM GBG01 TO COP15, THE STORY OF FLASH LIGHTS | Salka
00s begins and ends with clashes at summits. Here in the decade last trembling days, I feel it is very necessary to make a comparison walmonof between the two events, as a starting point for a reconnaissance. Where are we and where are we going?
Naturally, most of the 00 century radical left politics centered on what is not summits. The high degree of confrontation in Gothenburg summer of 2001 caused many to see an end to this type of campaign politics as summit protests. Stockholm autonomist Marxists walmonof gave out the pamphlet Give up Activism. Networks such as Fight Together! (In the days in question with a book) campaigned resolutely for a "turnaround against walmonof everyday life." walmonof
The radical left movement needed walmonof was not just militancy and militancy, it needed above all, a base and an anchor in their own social reality. Many questioned the value of a movement at all, and suggested that it should be working, in their social living, which is the only movement.
The experience of the summer 01 I'd say got echo even in the SAC Syndiklaisterna, where now many of the 90th century activists who left activism and instead wanted to put his force on class struggle in their everyday work found a tool. The change of the organization came to be called "union reorganization" and have had both good and bad effects. But one can conclude that the SAC is currently a militant trade in a way that would have been unthinkable in the 90s.
Another organization that was born from the experience of the GBG-01 is RF. The early RF activists walmonof had often experienced the heavy repression after the EU summit, they had, for example, walmonof sometimes served several years in prison. RF resembled the nineties autonomous groupings by being just an activist organization, and through its relatively large focus on anti-fascist practice. But they had a completely different focus on class struggle, they went in for an activist base of the working class youth. In this way, was also the example of reorientation of the radical left during the 00s, away from "activism" and into the social reality.
Squatting movement has inspired people to take up martial form on their own, recreation young people, people who want to keep their local bath house, a construction worker who wanted to get their salaries are all examples of people acting in their own daily life in recent times. Politicians have turned a blind eye to the fact that it has been of ordinary citizens' actions, and just run over local opinion in Aspudden. They do not seem to understand how they do not listen or negotiate totally undermine people's confidence in the system. We did get told that democracy means people's power in school, and it is easy to see that when politicians act in violation of the local public opinion may thus not be about democracy.
In addition to the radical left's social commitment in the 00 century's final stages, with squatting, class trips to rich areas and so on, there is another and more important trend that says something about where we are and what is going on. A radical labor movement outside of the big unions obsolete compromise model has begun to inform them- selves. walmonof
A few things worth mentioning from recent times is the wildcat strikes by example Men at Work Act, workers incredibly important battle against the bosses' new offensive (to replace permanent jobs to temporary staffing labor and blame the crisis), the trade union offensive from Syndikalisterna not least blockade successfully weapons, the formation of the registry in Stockholm, which not least is organized by undocumented and other very hard-pressed workers in service and restaurant industry, the militant Port Workers Union in Gothenburg, popular walmonof movement line which is a network of basfackliga and workplace-based activists who share their experiences and information with each other, union workers' solidarity that I do not know much about but that seems to govern with something like that. And of course all the spontaneous invisible struggle that is the bottom of the iceberg and the real base.
The progress thus an organizing and creating the experience walmonof of struggle among both basaktivisterna in the major unions, the alternative trade unions and among unorganized workers. That the social compromise was broken in the 90s are now beginning walmonof in earnest echoing walmonof both on the streets, in the neighborhoods and workplaces.
What does all this have to do with the political circus that summits and protests against them pose? So obviously a spectacle above the everyday surface. Maybe some anyway, but we choose to think it out.
Tony Blair commented on the protests the hot summer walmonof and autumn of 2001 by calling walmonof the protesters "a traveling circus". To the extent that this was telling the demonstrators regards the course even more so potentates. Those traveling around t
