Review: After winning the Oscar in 2001 for his short film "I want to be" ("I Want to be ..."), the German Florian Gallenberger ("Honolulu", "John Rabe") debuted in film in 2004 with "Shadows of Time "which premieres at last in Spain. This is a remarkable old-fashioned melodrama, with a splendid staging, careful setting, photographic and musical resolution of great beauty and a remarkable performances, especially the main characters, both children and adults. Also, avoid vulgar to meet the most sordid plot passages multiviewer concessions. At this point and the role of fate in the plot, "Shadows multiviewer of Time" is rather like "Slumdog Millionaire", Danny Boyle, though his tone is less optimistic, and style, multiviewer much more classic. Certainly, eager loyalty to the Indian culture and cinema, Gallenberger extreme melodrama, which weakens a little the central part of the film. However, he never lost the reins of the story, maintains a high emotional level and achieves clearly delineate the dramatic character profiles. It is so valuable film for its powerful romanticism and his denunciation of child exploitation and the rigid classicism of Indian society.
